a child is supposed to grow up knowing that their able to trust their parents, their siblings. most households were like that, but annalynne didn't know that until she entered college at the tender age of nineteen. her childhood was spent avoiding her drug-addicted, neglectful parents and trying to stay out of sight of her oldest brother for fear that he would bully her yet again. needless to say, annalynne grew up with books and television for best friends. high school broadened her horizons to some degree and she was able to make friends that had a pulse, who spoke back to her, who called to talk at night after supper; however, the low income family couldn't afford for her to run for student council and she was too afraid to ask anyway. graduation brought about the most expensive part of her life to date, though, and somehow her brother that she was closest to in age paid for her cap and gown and portraits. it was his gift for her earning the title of valedictorian.

quiet and a little shy by nature, annalynne learned that college was a lot different from high school -- even if she wasn't relocating for college like many of her former peers. annalynne started to grow into herself; personality blossomed, mind opened, and she started to develop her likes and dislikes. turns out she still liked to read, but getting drinks with a couple of girlfriends was liberating also. soon she was able to move out of her parents home and in with her brother, the same one who footed most of the bills for her education. annalynne picked up a part-time job at a vet clinic to nurture her love for animals. it's clear to those who have always known her, even though she isn't screaming it from the rooftops, that she is done hiding in her bedroom behind books and beautiful stories. now she's stretching her legs and living her own life, without regard for where she came from.
